Formed from a group of recreational singers at Harvard University
to sing in the 1992 1000 voice, London Welsh International Festival
of Male Choirs in London's Royal Albert Hall, the Men's Chorus performs
benefit concerts for New England charities to assist them in their
fund-raising efforts. The Chorus sings regularly in the Albert Hall
Welsh Festivals, and has performed in Salisbury and Winchester Cathedrals,
Toronto's Ontario Welsh Festival, Boston's Museum of Fine Arts and
on WGBH Radio 89.7 FM.
The Chorus numbers 70 singers from New England states who enjoy
the camaraderie of singing at weekly rehearsals and 4-5 concerts
a year, and the traditional but wide-ranging repertoire which includes
folk songs, love songs, spirituals and sacred music; classical excerpts;
traditional English and Welsh songs and anthems; and an occasional
show tune. Most of the men sing in other groups such as their church
choirs, the Boston Pops Holiday Chorus and various small groups.
